Happy birthday Tenley! Today is my granddaughter’s fifth birthday. She is an example of super charged energy.
I had another long day even though I said I wouldn’t. I guess I’m just wired that way.
I am committed however to take it easier tomorrow. Today was hard. My knees are talking to me. Tomorrow looks like we start with a long challenging climb. I’m just going to play it by ear.
This slelter was built in the 1930s by then CCC.

I did experience some trail magic today. Right in the middle of a very tough section there was some bottled water and some bars waiting. HEAVEN!

bonus is that I’m at Nantahala Outdoor Center. For $20 I have a bunk, shower and laundry. It’s a bunkhouse for 20 men. There are more so I assume there is on for women too.
Today was another great day for scenery. ![]()

Yes, Mike, the scenery is heavenly. Here in the flat lands we have fog, drizzle, etc. today.

You are doing great Mike, thank you for sharing part of your adventure with us. 137 miles, and maybe into the Smokies in a couple of days? Hope you are staying healthy out there and enjoying every minute, even the hard parts. Forward progress.
