Clarks Creek-William Penn Shelter. 1189.6 done/1000.2 to go. May 19, 2017.

I was hiking today by 6:25. There was already someone fishing in the stream for trout when I left.

I saw my first rattlesnake today. Engineer has seen several. This one was about three feet long.

It was very hot again today. I went through about 2 gallons of water. We did 24 miles today. About 15 miles into our day we came to this stream and decided to cool off and clean up at the same time. It felt awesome.

This little swim really revived us. Engineer, Maple Syrup, and Timber are all here. Also a woman named Peace from Iowa City and a young couple I haven’t met yet.

The other guys are talking about going 28 miles tomorrow. I’m not sure I can do it. I’m going to get up early and try. It’s supposed to be cooler so it will depend on the terrain.
