Goodbye New York. Hello Connecticut.
Maple Syrup, Engineer and I did 21 miles today. It was pretty uneventful. The trail gave us some of everything as usual. Very easy to very difficult.
There was a train stop right on the trail. This is where AT hikers can go to the city if they want.
The highlight of the day was getting a shower. There is a nursery and landscape business on the trail that allows hikers to stop and shower.
The shelter we are at tonight is Engineer, Maple Syrup, Cheese, Coyote, Devo and Carrie. It’s Carrie’s first day on the trail so she didn’t have a trail name yet.
Tomorrow morning we’ll be hiking about a mile off trail to go into Kent, Connecticut. Maple Syrup has to pick up his shoes at the post office. We will do our laundry at the laundromat, eat breakfast, buy a few supplies at the store and get back on the trail.
My knee and shoulder are both feeling better. Not 100% yet, but better. I feel a little plantar fasciitis happiness in my left foot so I’m babying that.
