20.9 miles today. Thirteen hours on the trail. I was very hungry and tired when I got to camp.
The day started with a long difficult descent and then a grueling climb up Baldplate Mountain.
I got a few pictures from Baldplate West Peak, but unfortunately none from the east Peak. A thunderstorm storm rolled in and I had to take cover.
I was above tree line when the storm hit. Luckily I found a rock to take cover under. The wind and rain didn’t last long, but it made the rock wet and slippery. That slowed me down.
After that the trail got easier and faster.
The shelter here is small and older. It only holds six. It’s pretty full. The only person in there I knew was French Dip. I’m happy to be in my tent. It gets me out of the bugs.
Keeping you in my prayers, you crazy guy! Be safe!!
