Last night was cold. I slept very little, off and on all night. I got up at 5:00 am, cooked some oatmeal, packed my frosty tent and hit the trail as soon as it was light.
I hiked most of the first five miles with a young lady that was between grad school and getting into PT school. I met Keith and Netta at Woody Gap and Keith and I hiked the next ten miles together. The highlight of the day was climbing to the top of Blood Mountain. The climb was brutal but the view was breathtaking! The pictures won’t do it justice.
We finished at Neel Gap. Netta found a woman that had rented a cabin and was looking for someone to split it with. We took her up on it. I amhoping for a good nights sleep.
Those photos are amazing. Keep them coming. We love you.

You need 40 pounds on your back to make it official.
